When you book your first appointment you will get an email with an intake questionary to fill out. The information from the intake paints a picture of your own personal constitution. It can show any imbalances that could be leading to or aggravating your health concern. At your appointment, we may ask for a few more details. We will look at your tongue and feel your pulse to give us more diagnostic information. Then we will let you get cozy on the table and do the acupuncture. Once the needles are in many people relax to the point of falling asleep.
Preparing to come to your appointment:
- Wear loose comfortable clothing or clothing that is easy to undress out of.
- Ensure that you can take it easy after your appointment.
- Cleanliness is important for the insertion of needles. Pay particular attention to feet and hands during seasons when people may garden, wear sandals or go barefoot.
Things to avoid:
- Coming to your session after eating a very large meal or on an empty stomach
- Being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
- Vigorous exercise before or after treatment.
